Lloyd Melvin “L.C.” Combs
Lloyd Melvin “L.C.” Combs, 73, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012, at his residence.
Lloyd was born in 1939, in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of the late Melvin O. Combs and Opal M. Headley. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1957. Lloyd was a lineman with Potomac Edison, retiring after 35 years of service.
Lloyd was a member of the Winchester Gun Club, the Gainesboro Conservation Club, and the NRA. He was also a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge #1263 and the Winchester Elk Lodge #867. Lloyd was an avid hunter and NASCAR/Earnhardt fan. His favorite college football team was the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Surviving are his daughters, Susan L. Combs and Sharon L. Combs, both of Stephens City, Virginia; two sisters, Esther Good and her husband Garland and Bonnie Adams and her husband Ted, all of Winchester, Virginia and loving nieces and nephews.
The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Reverend Robert “Buzz” Moore and Pastor Ronnie Combs officiating.
Interment will be private.
