Linda Lee Kent, 75, of Lake Frederick, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home, after many years of dealing with multiple serious health challenges.
Linda was born in 1949 in Sunbury, PA, the daughter of the late Walter and Beverly Sprenkle, and was a graduate of Lewisburg (PA) Area High School. She loved the Lord first and foremost, and attended Abundant Life Church in Stephens City, VA. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Winchester, VA Gideons Camp. Next to loving the Lord, Linda loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed decorating, especially with butterflies, and maintaining flowering plants, particularly hibiscus. She loved animals, especially her cat Alex and dog Freckles, and for years enjoyed entering her cats in cat shows, where they won numerous ribbons. Despite her many long¬standing health challenges, Linda consistently exhibited a sweet and gentle spirit to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her husband, David Kent, whom she married in 1967; children, Greg Kent (Susan) and Christine Kent Bowles; grandchildren, Tim, Beth, Patrick, Peter, Andrew, Samantha and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Gini and Jillian; sister, Connie Schneider (Raymond); and brother, Jeff Sprenkle (Kathy). Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Sprenkle, Jr., along with her parents.
A visitation will be held for Linda on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 1pm with a service to follow at 2pm, officiated by Pastor John Miller. The visitation and service will be held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, Winchester, VA. Interment will be in Macedonia Church Cemetery, White Post, VA.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and/or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
