Lily May Fletcher
Lily May Manuel Fletcher, age 88, of Frederick County, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Golden Living Center- Rose Hill, Berryville, Virginia.
Mrs. Fletcher was born in 1927, in Norfolk, Virginia. Lily grew up in Winchester and attended Handley High School. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she enjoyed volunteering and being part of her church community. She also volunteered for the Hospice Shop in her spare time and loved to visit nursing homes with her Monday Bible Study group. Lily was also employed by Bell Clothes as a seamstress in Winchester for 25 years. She was a faithful Christian, a devoted wife, mother grandmother and friend, who loved to garden, go to yard sales and cook for her family. She especially loved Christmas breakfasts and Thanksgiving dinners.
Lily married Robert Nelson Fletcher on March 7, 1943 in Winchester, Virginia. Robert preceded her in death in 2004.
Surviving is her daughter, Robin Stockman (Steve) of Sterling, Virginia; her son, Bob Fletcher (Elvie) of Stephens City, Virginia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and her devoted caregiver of 5 years, Ms. Diane Jenkins.
Her daughter, Cynthia L. Fletcher, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A private graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Pastor Wallace Mitchell officiating.
