Lily Charlene McMillan Rust, 52, of White Post, Virginia, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Rust was born in 1963, in Monroeville, Alabama, the daughter of Carolyn McMillan and the late Charles Jackson McMillan, Jr. She was a graduate of Monroe Academy, Class of 1981. Mrs. Rust was a retired Office Manager with Spine and Sport Physical Therapy. She was a member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship. Mrs. Rust collected antiques, particularly antique china. She enjoyed reading, was an avid Alabama football fan, she loved canning, gardening and being a homemaker. Mrs. Rust loved traveling and her dog “Nelson”. She loved to lay on her swing, listen to music (especially The Eagles), and drink her morning coffee. More than anything she loved her daughters, Bailey and Danielle and her grandson, Hunter and anything involving them.
She married Robert Edward Rust on September 22, 2001, in Arkansas.
Surviving with her mother of Monroeville, Alabama, and her husband, are her daughters, Bailey Catherine Rust of White Post, Virginia and Danielle Thompson of Queen Creek, Arizona; grandson, Hunter Jackson; sisters, Alison McMillan Chappell and husband, Roy of Gulf Shores, Alabama; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Jackson McMillan III and wife, Ann, of Trussville, Alabama and Joshua Whitman McMillan and wife, Catlain, of Excel, Alabama.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A graveside service will be conducted at Old Scotland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Scotland, Alabama on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Arrangements in Alabama will be handled by Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville, Alabama.
