Lila Florence Gosling Barr, 78, of Boyce, Virginia, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, in Winchester, Virginia.

Mrs. Barr was born in 1933, in Manchester, England, Great Britain, the daughter of Wilfred and Florence Gosling. She was the former owner of Ellis Shopping Center in Stephenson, Virginia. Mrs. Barr was a member of Boyce Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Barr married Junior “Bill” Barr in 1958 in England, preceded her in death on November 26, 2001.

Surviving are a son, Wayne A. Barr and his wife, Tammy, of Winchester, Virginia, two grandchildren, Kyle Barr and his wife, Brittany, of Gore, Virginia, Victoria Barr of Winchester, VA and a brother, Arthur Gosling, Manchester, England, Great Britain.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Chaplain Ken Patrick officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Sad to find out that both Lila and Billy had passed. Worked for them at "The Grapes" pub in Little Quay St. Manchester in 1971. I was 18 and it was the best of times. Loved working for them, they taught me a lot. Met lots of famous people as it was the pub they all came to, had the best barmaids and great customers. Have so many great memories of my time there and Billy & Lila who both made a lasting impression on me x
