Lewis Dean Haines, 76, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Haines was born January 13 1939, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Frank B. and Gertrude D. Haines. He was a salesperson with Murray Steaks and a retired truck driver with Southeastern Container. Mr. Haines was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Winchester and a member of the Winchester Eagles Aerie #824.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, socializing, family gatherings and was one who “never met a stranger”. He loved animals, smoking cigars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He married Betty Jane Giffin on December 27, 1958, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Tammy Denise Haines Malatt (Pete); son, Jerry Dean Haines (Stacey); grandchildren, Riley Dean Haines, Myranda Grace Haines and Zachary Pete Malatt; sisters, Mary M. Siers, Eva N. Pitcock, Reta H. Palmer and brothers, Charles A. and Gary R. Haines.
Two sisters, Elizabeth Lupton Link and Arline McDonald Goddard and brothers, Eugene W., Byrl P., Marshall D., Frank Jr. and Samuel A. Haines, preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday in Green Hill Cemetery, Stephens City, Virginia.
