Lauren Pearce, 55, of Winchester, Virginia, died, October 5, 2014 at her residence.

Lauren, was born in 1959, in Succasunna, New Jersey. She is the daughter of William Pearce and Barbara Pearce. She is a graduate of Roxbury High School, Succasunna, New Jersey.

Surviving with her mother of Winchester, Virginia, is a sister, Kathleen Pearce-Wright and husband, Donald, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; two nieces, Gwendolyn Bordeaux and husband, Brian, of Marshall, Virginia and Rachael Bartholomew and husband, Eric, of Marshall, Virginia; a great niece Brooklyn Bartholomew and three great Nephews, Brennen Bordeaux, Jackson Bordeaux and Russell Bartholomew. She is also survived by her beloved rescue dog Daisy.

Lauren worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Winchester as an Engineering Tech since 2007 and was deployed to the Middle East as Support of Contingency Operations for a year in 2010 and 18 months in 2012. She was loved and will be missed by her coworkers.

Lauren was a daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, coworker, friend and a confidant. She was an exquisite gardener, an animal lover and a battle buddy. Lauren was a motorcycle and bicycle enthusiast, which lead to her being one of the founding members of the Bike Washington Cycling Club (which is now 1,300 members strong). She loved nature, the trees and the ocean. Autumn was her favorite time of the year.

Lauren was preceded in death by her father, William Pearce and grandparents Edith and Russell Fine and her beloved cat Charlotte.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Funeral Celebrant, Joseph Dilleree officiating. Interment will be private.

We plan on having a large motorcycle presence at the memorial service since Lauren was an avid biker. Please feel free to ride your bike to the service! We want to hear the roar!

Lauren is truly my best friend, although we fought from time to time, I dearly thought of her as a very special person. I taught her to ride and she went full force in it. She will always have a place in my heart. Such a kind and giving young woman, she love adventure and I will still make the trip to San Fran to eat crab in her honor. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want He maketh me lie down in green pastures: he leadth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name's Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runneth over. May god and the lord walk with you for all eternity. I will look to the stars and know you are aways there looking over us. You are truly an angel in the heavens above. Say hi to poppy and one day we will be together forever.

Lauren you will be missed. I was just telling my kids about a week ago that you were the only person that could call me Barbie and get away with it. I would share stories of our younger days when we were wee bitty kids and then show them the worldly things you have done as an adult. You will always be in my heart.

I was thinking about the old days of GE and how much fun our little extended family had. I will miss you dearly. You were one on the kindest people I have had the privledge to have in my life. Rest in peace my friend and know you always are in my heart.

Dear Barbara and Kathy and Family, Please know that you do not mourn alone. Lauren always vt brought a bright spot to my day. She was so down to earth but full of spunk and laughter. I hope she's in my welcoming party when I come through the Pearly Gates!

I remember the day I took you for a ride on my Harley and you said to me" I've always wanted to ride a motorcycle" I turned to you and said" Lauren, The only thing that happens if you wait.......is you get older" Two weeks after that you called me to tell me you had taken her motorcycle drivers test and passed ! You was ecstatic when you went to Grove's HD to pick out your red Sportster.. I'll always remember the last time we rode on 8-29-14 and you put over 260 miles on your Lux and you told me" That's the longest ride I've ever been on and I loved it " I will miss your smile and your friendship.................Rest In Peace Lauren and Ride like the wind. To all of Lauren's family & friends my deepest condolences. We all lost an Angel.

To Lauren's family. I know you do not know me. I sold Lauren her home when she moved to Winchester. I thought the world of her. We ran into each other over the years. She would call from time to time with questions, or wanting information about real estate. I loved her dog Daisy. I just want you to know she was loved by many. Please know I will miss her!

To Lauren's Family, Our memories of Lauren are happy ones, funny ones, kind ones—snapshots of generosity, wit and especially humor. Lauren blessed us with her personality, kindness and sense of humor. She was always willing to give a helping hand and she will be greatly missed.
