Larry Joseph Hottle, 68, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at his home.
Born on September 23, 1956, in Winchester, Virginia, he was the son of the late Raymond Alfred Hottle and Rana DeHaven Hottle. He was a graduate of Handley High School and later attended Lord Fairfax Community College. At just 17, he earned a Master’s AMSC certification in welding, beginning a long successful career in the skilled trades.
For over three decades, Larry was the owner and CEO of Hottle & Myers Inc., where he served thousands of customers with geothermal, HVAC and electrical services. He built a thriving business known for reliability, quality and care.
In later years, Larry and his wife, Robin created the YouTube channel, Outdoors with Larry and Robin where they documented their firewood business and the dedication it took to serve the local community. Known online as “The Legend of Easy”, Larry earned the nickname for his efficient “no-touch” firewood processing method using his Bobcat.
Larry and Robin love traveling across the country, attending firewood events and connecting with the YouTube community they cherished.
He is survived by his wife Robin Shaffer Rosenberry Hottle; his children, Stacy Gonzalez Herrera, Eric J. Hottle, Kyle M. Hottle, Rana A. Hottle, Marigrace F. Rosenberry and William B. Rosenberry; 7 grandchildren and his brothers, David, Timothy and Mark Hottle.
In the words of friend and fellow creator Dan of Back40Firewood “It doesn’t matter what’s in your glass, just raise it and toast.” Today we toast the life of hard work, love, and legacy of Larry Joseph Hottle.
