Kenny P. Burcham
Kenny Patrick Burcham, age 54, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia died Friday, August 22, 2014, in Maryland as a result of an automobile accident.
Mr. Burcham was born on December 1, 1959 in Winchester, Virginia.
He was the only son of Rufus (Sonny) Kenny Burcham, Jr. and Darnell Patrick Burcham of Winchester, VA and the son-in-law of John Christian, Sr and wife Lolita Reid Christian of Stephens City, VA.
He married Cathy Denise Christian on May 21, 1989 at Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church in Stephens City, Virginia. They have been married 25 wonderful years.
He was the owner and operator of Burcham’s Garage in Winchester, started in 1960 by his father, and proud to carry on the family business.
Kenny was a 1978 graduate of James Wood High School.
Kenny has been a bowler since 1970 and belonged to various bowling leagues.
He was a history buff enjoying Gettysburg and the Antietam battlefields. He loved his pets – Bear, Molly, TJ and Racer. He loved jazz music. Kenny enjoyed outdoor adventures, including hiking and biking up and down the East coast. He gave of his time to the Good Shepherd Caregivers in Jefferson County, WV as a Dialysis Team driver.
Along with his wife, Kenny is survived by
sister, Diana Heishman and husband Ken
sister, Debbie Galloway and husband, Chick
sister, Denise Christian and husband, Danny
sister, Donna (Susie) Malone
and large extended family including 13 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews
and many beloved friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his niece Sarah Elise Christian and his brother-in-law Roger Lee Malone,
Known for his giving, selfless nature, and dedication to his family and friends, he will be missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating. Interment, at Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church, will be private.
