It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of beloved husband and father, Kenneth Wayne Godlove, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the age of 76.
Wayne was born in Winchester, VA, to the late Kenneth and Maxine Godlove. After high school, Wayne proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. While serving, Wayne met and married the love of his life on March 16, 1971. Throughout his life, Wayne enjoyed fishing and loved building hot rods and going to car shows. Most of all, Wayne loved his family deeply and unconditionally.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte; his daughters Michele Allen and Jennifer Texeira (Eric); grandchildren, Marcus, Nathaniel, Marquessa, Makayla, Evan and Mikey; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Sydney and Savannah; sister, Barbara Hott and brother, Michael Godlove.

Services for Wayne will be private.

Godlike will be missed as he was a friend for all persons. For me personally, as his manager, he always made me feel special. I am sure this was the way he treated others. As for me I can hear him holler: “Hey gunner” a term of endearment by him on all meetings. He was a special person to me and I offer my condolences to his family. Godlove made you feel good inside with his presence.

My heart was broken when I learned of Wayne's death. He was such a wonderful man and so blessed to have known him and Charlotte. We shared so many laughs at RCP through the years. He definitely left his mark with his sense of humor. I will always remember him for that. Char you were truly blessed with such a wonderful husband, Father, and Grandfather. My deepest condolences and if you need anything please let me know. Rest in peace my friend.

Charlotte and Family - I'm so sorry for this great loss in your life. Wayne was so full of life, adventure and just being funny. I will always remember him at RCP on Wednesdays making his rounds asking everyone if they knew what day it was. It was Hump day of course, WOO WOO! I know he's still sharing his laughter. I hope once he's done with his rounds in Heaven he will be fishing or enjoying the sunset. Rest in Peace my friend.

The Godloves lived across from us on Bufflick Road. As kids I remember Wayne being the drill sergeant and instructing Mike, Rick and I through basic training. He had us running, rolling and jumping off roofs. Please accept my sympathy. Randy Jackson

Dear Godlove Family, It's with great sadnessn that I write this condolence. When I was told that Wayne went home to be with the Lord ; part of me was sad & part joy. Charlotte, remember that joy comes in the morning, ( says the Loed ) As kids we had so much fun. Football in the field across the road from Max. & Kenny's house. The old store next to the house. Bicycle, gocart races, and much much more was enjoyed in the neighborhood. P.S. I remember Wayne coming home . Love Gerry & Debbie

Wayne was a very good person. Always to the point and factual. Great sense of humor and great to work with. Prayers to the family. Loved his family greatly very proud of his children and grandchildren. Loved that Chevy truck too. He will be missed.

Mr. Godlove was a good man. I have a lot of old memories of our time in Awana’s or LONG races at Dover. My condolences to Michele, Jennifer and Mrs Godlove. I pray God comforts you all through this troubling time. Chip

We are first cousins. Some summers, Wayne would visit us at our small Clearbrook Farm. What a wonderful time that was! Wayne was a very nice boy and grew to be a wonderful man and father. Fond memories of all our family times. Rest in peace beloved cousin.

Sweet Waynie Poo! You will always hold a special place in my heart. You were one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You were the kindest man. The love you had for Charlotte, your girls, and your grandchildren was truly beautiful. I pray for their comfort during this difficult time. You will truly be missed by so many. Love you Poo!

Charlotte and Family, I am so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man. He was such a bright spot at RCP. Always ready with a kind word or a laugh. His love for Charlotte and his family was evident to anyone who spoke to him. The world has truly lost a wonderful person.

Wayne was such a wonderful person. I loved working with him for several years. Once he had retired it was so fun running into him at Martin's. Heaven received another Angel. Prayers to Charlotte and the rest of the family.
