Katherine Suzanne (Keister) Herman
Katherine Suzanne “Kat” Herman, age 33, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at her residence.
Kat was born in 1982, the daughter of David E. Keister of Front Royal, Virginia and the late Vena Joan Keister. She was a loving mother and homemaker for her family. She was a 2000 graduate of Warren County High School. She was homecoming queen of Warren County High in her senior year. Kat was a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church in Winchester. She was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for nine and a half years.
Kat loved spending time with all her family. She loved and cherished her son, Trevor and she listened to the Grateful Dead with her brother, Josh. Although she was born in the 1980’s, she was an “old soul” that loved everything about the 1960’s era. She had a passion for baking and decorating cakes and enjoyed being the hostess of a party. Her favorite food was biscuits and gravy. Kat would never turn down an invitation to a card game, liked being outdoors, and had a special place in her heart for the family pets, Oscar, Max, and Daisy.
Kat married William Russell “Bill” Herman on October 8, 2008 in Jim Barnett Park, Winchester. She was previously married to Charles Andrews.
Surviving in addition to her father and husband, Kat is survived by her brother, Joshua David Keister of Front Royal, Virginia; her son, Trevor Page Andrews of Strasburg, Virginia; a step-son, Jarrett Hargrove of Strasburg, Virginia; and aunts and uncles, Sandra and Richard Clowser of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Brenda and Victor George of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Ida Ryckman of Winchester, Kentucky; in-laws, Nancy Herman and husband, Jeff Hale of Remington, Virginia and Robert C. Herman and wife, Mary of Butler, Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Robert M. Herman of Medford, Oregon; and numerous cousins.
A visitation for friends and family will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Braddock Street United Methodist Church Sanctuary, Winchester, Virginia with Reverend Kirk Nave officiating.
A reception will follow and details will be announced at the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kat’s memory to BB&T Bank on Valley Avenue in Winchester for her son, Trevor Andrews.
