Kathleen Marie O’Rourke Hunt, 85, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Hunt was born in 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Francis and Alice O’Rourke. She graduated from St. Joseph’s College of Nursing, earning a Master’s degree in Nursing. Mrs. Hunt retired as a registered nurse in Long Island, New York. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Legion of Mary and Parish Council of Christian Women, as well as an active volunteer with Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary Attic. Mrs. Hunt was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Her husband, James F. Hunt, whom she married on June 8, 1957 in Queens, New York preceded her in death in 1983.

Surviving is a daughter, Kathleen Johnson (Walter) of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Jeffrey Hunt (Debbie) of Huntington, New York and Matthew Hunt (Sherry) of Havelock, North Carolina; grandchildren, Beth Hendricks (Aron) of Alexandria, Virginia, Erin Johnson of Winchester, Virginia, Keri Johnson of Washington, D.C., April Hunt of South Carolina, Danielle Phillips (Tim) of Henrico, Virginia; and great grandchildren, Allie and Grant Hendricks.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with rosary service at 7:30 pm.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester, Virginia with Reverend Bjorn Lundberg officiating. Interment will be at a later date in The Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, New York.
