Joseph “Joe” S. DuBose, Jr., 74 of Cross Junction, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

Joe was born in 1950 in Georgia, the son of the late Joseph DuBose, Sr. and Myra (Roland) DuBose. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1968 and studied at the Nashville Auto Diesel College. Joe started his career as a Master Automobile Technician working for many dealerships in the area. Joe retired as owner/operator of Scubaventures Dive Center. Joe loved the water and spent his last few years working with Scuba Buddies in Harrisonburg as a Master SCUBA Instructor. He spent many years as an amature radio operator.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Harrison DuBose whom he married on May 18, 1975, and his siblings, Myra Denise Lloyd (Francis), David Keith DuBose and Alan Dean DuBose (Ramona), his brother-in-law Lee Harrison (Sherri) and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

I just saw that Joe passed on. Its been awhile since I spoke with Joe as I moved to the DC area. I remember our diving trips to Mt Storm. Joe was a good man. Sorry he moved on. Prays to his family.

Linda, I am so sorry about Joe's passing. I was out of town and couldn't make it to the service. Hugs and Prayers to you.

Certified open water diver with joe in October 2000 went all the way to divemaster with his help as well as Bobby Morris and Janet Davidson(now passed away) also Robert Traister(now passed away)and Also Eillen Reed. Great crew,,loved diving with everyone and helping to teach students. Hang in there Ms. Linda .
