Joseph “Joe” Carl Bahler, 74, of Capon Bridge, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Bahler was born in 1941, in Marlboro, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Bette Bahler. He was a graduate of Marlton High School in Alliance, Ohio, Georgia Tech where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Syracuse University where he received a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Bahler was a veteran having served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed Computer Consultant for various IT companies over the years.
Mr. Bahler was a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and was very involved with golden retriever rescue, was a strong supporter of the G.R.R.E.A.T. (Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training) program, and once a year would attend the Goldstock Camp with his golden retrievers. His greatest joy in life was his family and his grandson, Jaeden.
He married Georgie Teale on December 7, 1963, in Ohio.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Kara Bahler of Manassas, Virginia; son, Terence Bahler of Oak Hill, Virginia; grandson, Jaeden Metz of Manassas; sisters, Carla Lawrence and husband, Bob, of Dothian, Alabama, Niska Oesch and husband, Doug, of Minerva, Ohio, Tonda Brake of Massillon, Ohio and brother, Michael Bahler and wife, Rosemary, of Alliance, Ohio.
