Sharon Yurkowski left a message on February 21, 2025:
Having Jay and his family close to us in the D.C. area while we lived there was so much fun. Life was easy and our families young. We enjoyed our gatherings... every single time. Then life got busy, we moved away, children grew up and correspondence stopped. What a shock to learn this sweet man is gone too soon. I remember Jay as kind and witty. In my mind, he was always smiling and calm. I grieve for you who saw him often and miss him so greatly. I do believe he is looking down on us with Stephen and his cousin Peter and one of my favorite uncles, Eddie. I pray for peace to you all and send Yurkowski love your way. (Peter ALWAYS visits us by cardinal sightings. Jay is near. Look for him in nature.)
