John Wolfrey, 71, of Berkeley Springs, WV, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
He was born on June 20, 1954, in Carlstadt, NJ. John was a talented mechanic and restorer of collectable cars. He was an avid NHRA fan and participant. John shared his passion for building racing motors and modification of cars with his best friend, Scott Huffman. Together they spent countless hours chasing the less than 9 second quarter mile on the drag strip.
John is survived by his wife, Rose Duba Wolfrey of Berkeley Springs, WV, only son, John Wolfrey, Jr. of York, PA; stepchildren, Shannon Losch of Springfield, VA, Joseph Losch of Woodstock, VA, Vinnie Kimble of Berkeley Springs, WV, Kathy Shan of Toledo, OH, Rebecca Jude of Surprise, AZ and Vicki Holt of Clarksburg, WV and several grandchildren that he loved dearly; his younger brother, Stanley Wolfrey of Cross Junction, VA and a host of nephews and nieces with whom he shared a special relationship. John will be truly missed.
A visitation will be held for John on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
