John William “Bill” Morgan
John William “Bill” Morgan, 90, of Frederick County, Virginia died Monday, October 15, 2012.
Mr. Morgan was born in Halltown, West Virginia, the son of the late Robert Mason Morgan and Lizzie Morgan. He was a Graduate of George Washington University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Morgan was a Veteran, serving in the United States Army Air Corps as a Pilot during World War II. He was employed by Johnson Controls in Washington D.C. After 36 years of dedicated service as a regional manager of the mid-Atlantic Region he retired in 1986. Bill was a member of professional organizations including ASHRAE and the Mechanical Engineers Society. He was also a member of the Kiwana’s Club and the Masonic Lodge.
Bill married Mary Martha Frye on September 14, 1947 in Wardensville, West Virginia. Bill was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and traveling with his family. He was a trustee of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in McLean, VA and a board member of the National Lutheran Home.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters; Esther Robinson and husband, John, of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Debbie Hattick and husband, John, of Morgan Hill, California; a son, Joe Morgan and wife, Debbie, of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor James H. Utt and Pastor Martha Miller Sims officiating. Interment will be the following day at 11:00 AM at Greenfield Cemetery in Wardensville, WV.
