I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jackie. He was my 1st cousin and I looked up to him. He was nine years older than me and I can remember (I was about ten yrs. old) and we would go to Aunt Jane and Uncle Dick's house for Apple Blossom and he and his friends would all be there having a ball. My eyes were wide as saucers as I took in everything; or we would go to Fork Union to watch him play football (he was a great player) and I remember my Aunt Jane jump up and yell "There goes my baby" as he was headed down the field for the goalpost. I was so proud of him! Even after I grew up and moved away whenever I came home my Dad would have a little get together and Jackie was there. My Dad and Jackie were close. Dad would many times go on road trips with him and take him back to school or wherever he was stationed. I am so sorry that I didn't see him more but I lived in Germany 16 yrs and parts of Alabama for 30 yrs. Didn't get home very much because of distance and commitments. I know he loved his family and am so thankful for all they have done for him. He was a great guy and will be missed. Loved his laugh and that smile. May he rest in peace. To the family I send my deepest sympathies and Love.

“Jack” as we have always called him has been our next door neighbor for over 12 years. Could not ask for a better neighbor. Always so pleasant and kind and so many pleasant conversations in the yard and at the fence over the years. Never failed to say hi or wave when he saw us. I was so honored when he would ask for my advice or opinion when he planned projects ir upgrades at his house. He was such a big part of our life snd we are blessed to have known him. We are blessed to have the whole Crenshaw family as neighbors and pray for comfort and healing. Jack will be missed so much!

Jack was someone who cared about others and I was lucky enough to have him as my brother in law. He raised their sons after my sisters passing on his own. Jimmy remembers him as a coach and track star . I am sorry that we didn’t live in the area and have more contact with Jack and the boys. To Mike and Allen we are truly sorry for your loss.

Jackie was a great friend for more than 70 years. He had a great sense of humor, was a terrific athlete at Handley and Fork Union. We hunted, fished and just had a great time while growing up and afterwards. Made many road trips up and down Route 11. I'll be seeing you Podnuh!
