Jimmie Lee Lowery

          Jimmie Lee Lowery, 56, of Stephens City, Virginia died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at his home.

          Mr. Lowery was born in 1958 in Winona, Mississippi, the son of the late Harvey Lee Garett and Inez Lowery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of E-1 and earning his GED while serving in the military. He attended Valley Assembly of God Church in Middletown, VA, was an avid fan of all Atlanta sports teams, as well as the Georgia Bulldogs.  He loved to listen to all kinds of music and he also enjoyed playing the card game, Spades.

          Mr. Lowery married Cynthia C. (Holt) Lowery on March 11, 1981 in Germany.

          Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Michelle N. Lowery (DeShawn Branch) of Atlanta, GA and Sheaneka R. Lowery of Stephens City, VA; one grandchild, DeShawn Branch II of Atlanta; three sisters, Betty Thompson of Freeport, IL, Dorothy Johnson of Roswell, GA and Funtalla Lowery of Temple Hills, MD and three brothers, Larry Felton of Freeport, IL, Tommie Lowery of Mableton, GA and Joye Lowery of Ellenwood, GA.

          He was preceded in death by a sister, Desiree Fleming and a brother, Willie Brown.

          A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 23rd at the Valley Assembly of God Church, 2376 Fourth Street, Middletown, VA  22645.

          Contributions in memory of Jimmie may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave., Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601.

          Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
