Jerry A. Workman
Jerry Allen Workman, 66, of Middletown, VA died Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Workman was born in 1947 in Elwood, Pennsylvania, the son of Mary T. and Nelson R. Workman, Sr. He was a truck driver for Swift Transportation in Phoenix, Arizona, retiring after more than 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Little River Baptist Church.
He married Deborah Rawls Workman on June 24, 1978 in Aldie, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Patricia Fairfax and husband, Stanley of Aldie, Virginia, Melissa Knox of Middletown, VA and Stephanie Workman of Winchester, VA; two sons, Steve Knox or Summersville, WV and David Workman of Kirby, TX; six grandchildren, Jennifer Spurrier of Columbia, SC, Alexis Knox of Winterhaven, FL, Jonathan Knox of Richmond, VA, Jessica Knox, also of Richmond, Emily Waybright-Piceno of Middletown, VA and Deborah Knox of Summersville, WV; a sister, Diane Schleicher of Pittsburgh, PA and two brothers, Dale Workman and Dave Workman, both of Middletown, VA.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Alan Hurst officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
