Jeffrey “Jeff” Lynn Hockensmith, 58, of Winchester, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his home.
Jeff was born in 1959 in Hagerstown, Maryland, the son of the late Preston and Mary Hockensmith. Jeff was employed as a former auto parts manager for Auto Zone on Berryville Avenue. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. He can and will be remembered for his love of friends and family, NASCAR, fishing and in general spending time in the great outdoors. He was also one of the greatest Washington Redskins fan and was notoriously devoted to despising the Dallas Cowboys. Jeff was also a well-known and active member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Winchester # 824.
Jeff married Kimberly Hockensmith on June 12, 2004 at the Salvation Army Chapel in Winchester, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Jennifer Artilles and husband, Manuel of Falls Church, Virginia; sons, Rob Hockensmith and wife, Lee of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Michael Hockensmith and wife, Lisa of Berryville, Virginia; seven grandchildren; sisters, Alicia Payne of Charles Town, West Virginia and Carol Bonner and husband Robert of San Clemente, California and brothers, Rich Hockensmith and wife, Sharon of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Mark Hockensmith of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Bobby Hockensmith of Maryland as well as many extended family members including several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
Interment will be private and at a later date in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown, Maryland.
