Jay M. Gregg
Jay Morton Gregg, 83, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Gregg was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of John M. and Stella Gregg. He was a graduate of Augusta Military Academy and a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Gregg was an engineer with the Fairfax County Government. He was a member of Welltown United Methodist Church in Clear Brook, Virginia, as well as the Winchester Hiram Lodge #21, Sterling Masonic Lodge #268, Fauquier RAC, Piedmont Commandry #27 and Kena Shrine Temple. Mr. Gregg was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Winchester Moose Lodge #1283 and Winchester Eagles Aerie 824.
His wife, Lorraine Swartz Gregg, preceded him in death on August 19, 2007.
Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Bronson of Winchester; his friend and companion, Gloria Walker, and his beloved cat, Funny Face.
Two brothers, John D. Gregg and Andrew F. Gregg, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Marc Roberson officiating. Interment will be private.
