Janice E. Braithwaite, 50 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Janice was born in 1974 in Germany, the daughter of Judy (Clark) Braithwaite Spurling and the late James Edward Braithwaite, Sr. She was a graduate of James Wood High School and earned her associate’s degree from Lord Fairfax Community College. Janice worked for 8 years as a bookkeeper/administrator for Roberts Tree Service. She was a member of the Muddy Ducks Jeep Club. Janice enjoyed racing and going to drag races and at one time did drag racing herself. She was a loving and outgoing person.

She is survived by her mother, Judy; stepmother, Karen Braithwaite; fiancé, Robert Anderson; daughter, Karen Anderson; son, Robert Anderson; sister, Teresa Kessinger; brother, James Braithwaite, Jr.; niece, Haven and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her father, Janice is preceded in death by her stepfather, David Spurling.

Services for Janice will be private.

I have known Janice since High School. My heart is absolutely broken. She was the sweetest, most loving, caring and kind gal. She had a beautiful heart. I just saw that we lost her today. I am so sorry to hear about Janice’s passing. I am in shock. I had no idea she was sick. I have known Janice a long time. We went to school together and she was one of very few people that I kept on touch with after high school. Janice was such a great person with a huge heart. She was so happy when she found the love of her life Robert. It was so good to see her happy. She was so full of life always outgoing and happy. Janice will definitely be missed by so many people. She was definitely taken way too soon. My condolences to Robert and her Mom and Family. Rest Easy Janice! ❤️

Janice, I'm going to miss my beautiful daughter so very much. My heart is breaking!!! You were taken way too soon. I know you are in heaven now with no more pain and with your dad. A mother could never had asked for a more wonderful daughter, you were my everything. Watching you suffering was heart breaking but losing you is tearing my heart out. I love you so much Janice and it's going to be rough not seeing your beautiful face everyday but it brings me comfort knowing you're in Gods care now. You will always be in my heart ...
