Jane Drumheller, 97 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at her home.

Jane was born in 1927 in Bedford, VA, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Parker. She received her Bachelor of Science and Nursing Degree from the Medical College of Virginia and worked as a nurse at Winchester Memorial Hospital. Jane was co-owner of Thee Shop Christian Book Store where she most enjoyed sharing her faith with her customers and helping anyone in need. After retirement, she continued to be a powerful prayer warrior and faithfully wrote cards to anyone that was sick or on the prayer list. She was a strong woman whose faith never wavered, and she cherished her time spent with family.

She married Jack W. Drumheller, Sr. on November 14, 1953, in Richmond, VA. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2011.
Jane is survived by her children, Jan Geiser (Robert), Jack Drumheller, Jr. (Tracy) and Wayne Drumheller (Brenda); grandchildren, Jaclyn Michels (Nathan), Shannon Hoyer (Ben), Casey Price (William), Zachary Drumheller (Amanda) and Erin Drumheller and 9 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Candler and her brother, George Parker.

A visitation will be held for Jane on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 1pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Jane was a wonderful lady and I truly enjoyed the time I spent with her. I don’t think I have ever met a more genuinely kind hearted person. She certainly treasured and appreciated her family and her Lord and Savior. I know, even in this sad and sorrowful time you find peace in knowing where she is and who she is with. She sure earned her way there and i am was welcomed with open arms, Rest in Peace Jane, you will be missed. ❤️

What a beautiful soul and a beautiful life lived. I will forever remember my childhood neighbor and dear friend to my mother.

The world has lost an amazing woman but heaven has gained another angel. Jane was a sweet woman who always welcomed me and my family with a warm smile when we were there for a visit. Her kindness, grace and faith were an example for all. She will be truly missed by her family and all who had the good fortune of knowing her.

I know you are among the angels now , but we will miss terribly. However, you will not ever be forgotten. A life well lived and was well loved. Well done good and faithful servant. We love you.

Jane was one of the most caring person, such a faith filled soul, and prayer warrior. Every time we talked she would always ask about my daughter who she had never met but knew she had challenges, and that I was her caregiver and had so much concern for my well being. I will cherish her memory in my heart. Never a sweeter soul.

Jane was a great friend and asset to me in the early days of my Christian faith. She provided me with more books than I can remember, and we always had long conversations in The Shop. She will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jane about two years ago when I started with Home Instead Care. I looked forward to spending our time together. My first day she was so welcoming with that beautiful smile . She said to me have a seat and tell me about yourself. Our friendship grew from there . She has a special place in my heart. My best memory was when she said to me one day do you want to go get in trouble (lol) I said sure what would would you like to do ? She said let’s go shopping….the love she had for her family was undeniable. From our walks, talks, laughter and conversations she will truly be missed . Rest In Peace my dear friend .

When God created Jane he broke the mold. She was the sweetest and kindest woman I have ever known. Her heart was as big as her faith and those who knew her and loved her will deeply morn her passing. We send love to her children and grandchildren. Teresa & Jeff Gregson

I will celebrate Jane for knowing her steadfast faith. She was a kind person to all who knew her. I will never forget the many times she offered her help at church, especially with sorting the many Christmas cards we had to hand out. Jane would say" I can't do much, but I'll do what I can," and she did! She would call & send cards to us when she knew Tom & I were going through trying times and when Tom passed her calls were so important to me just hearing her gentle voice was a comfort. She was one "special lady" that I was blessed to call friend!
