James D. Ebersole
James D. Ebersole, 73, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Ebersole was born in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Richard and Dale Ebersole. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1958. Mr. Ebersole was a Meat Cutter with B&M Markets in Stephens City, retiring from Jimmy’s Meat Market, a store he owned and operated in Middletown, Virginia, in 1997. Mr. Ebersole was the Fire Chief in Stephens City, Virginia. He attended Stephens City Methodist Church. Mr. Ebersole was a fan of the Nationals Baseball team, The Winchester Royals and the Washington Redskins. He played on the Apple Valley Baseball League, as a pitcher, from the 1950’s – 1970’s. Mr. Ebersole was also a member of the Middletown Fire Company.
He married Linda Guard on December 13, 1969 at Stephens City United Methodist Church, Stephens City, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife, is his daughter, Debbie Amick and her husband, Robert, Jr., of Winchester; three grandchildren, Steven Booth, Nichole Waddell and Corey Amick, all of Winchester.
One son, Mark Ebersole and two brothers, Carroll Ebersole and Steven Ebersole, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday in Green Hill Cemetery, Stephens City, Virginia with Reverend Kirk Nave officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Merritt, Carlton Pietsch, Robert Amick, Jr., Carl Carver, Steven Booth, Darin Lucas.
