James C. McGoff, age 77, of Winchester, VA died 28 May 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Hospice. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA, 2 April, 1940, the son of the late Andrew J. and Mary R. McGoff.
He worked as General Manager of Duff’s Rebel Restaurant, Manager of Red Barn, Burger King, and Hardees. In addition, he worked in Front Royal at the Virginia Gentleman Restaurant.
Jim served in the U.S Air Force for four years in Crash Rescue. He was stationed in Alaska when it became a state in 1956. Jim was a member of the Air Force Association and American Legion Post #21.
He married Edythe (Edie) A. Hintz on 6 May 1972 in Penndel, PA. and they moved to Winchester, Virginia. They just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Surviving with his beloved wife, Edie, is grandson, Marshall J. Carlisle of Winchester; daughter, Jennifer McBride and husband, Jason of Winchester; son, James C. McGoff, II; sister, Alice Sesar of Morrisville, PA; nephew, Joseph C. Sesar and wife, Jennifer and their children: Amber, Joseph, Jordan and Ahlana of Morrisville.
He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia A. McGoff and brother, Andrew J. McGoff both from Morrisville, PA.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel followed by a committal service at 2 p.m. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum, Winchester, Virginia.
