James Anthony “Tony” Lockley, 64, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home.
Tony was born in 1952 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, the son of the late Donald and Vera Beth “Betty” Lockley. Tony married Susanna Nuri on July 22, 1988 in Winchester, Virginia. Along with his wife Tony owned and operated Lockley Plumbing, Inc. for nearly 40 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. He will be forever remembered for his love of family and friends, his true one of a kind nature, and his smile. Tony was a warm-hearted genuine individual who showed selflessness and compassion to those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving with his beloved wife of 28 years is his daughter, Toni Welzel and her fiancé Scottie Vance of Capon Bridge, West Virginia; sisters, Tina DeHaven and husband, Dwight of Winchester, Virginia and Becky Harrison and husband, Danny of Indiantown, Florida; brothers, Cris Lockley and wife, Denise of Winchester, Virginia and James “Tommy” Lockley and companion, Darlene of Petersburg, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Samantha Rae Peacemaker, and five great grandchildren as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Tony was preceded in death by one grandson, Dylan James Welzel.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
Interment will be private at a later date at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions in memory of Tony may be made to Round Hill Community Fire and Rescue, 141 Spinning Wheel Lane, Winchester, VA 22603.

Dad, I miss you so much

I have struggled with what to say. I know that I will always remember whenever I saw Uncle Tony he smiled, letting me know he was happy to see me, and was always ready with a big hug. He laughed easily, and was always ready to help people. I will miss him. I am so glad he and Susi fell in love, so that I was able to be blessed knowing him!

Tony Lockley was more than a cousin to me. I have so many fond memories, but I wasn't done learning from him, or philosophizing about the world with him, or cooking for family and friends at the pond house with him, or remembering other lost loved ones with him. I've always enjoyed spending time with Tony through various stages in my life, and especially following the loss of my father. My condolences to all who suffer from this loss, and there are many.

Yhe first time I called you "Uncle Tony" your eyes lit up and you smiled from ear to ear.... we are not blood bit we are family !! You taught me how to throw darts, love Earnhart and Nascar and Coors Light....Tylwr and AnnaKate adored you and loved when you left them "mail" in their playhouse. Thanksgiving, learning to throw darts in the basement, and a big scruffy beard. These are the memories that I will treasure most when I think of Uncle Tony. Such a loving and family oriented man.

Susanna, Herb and I are so-o-o sorry dear Tony passed on! He was so kind, thoughtful and generous and we appreciate the many things he did to help us. Your whole family is in our prayers.
