Herbert Yost

 

Herbert Yost, 95, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, passed away on July 11, 2013 in the Winchester Medical Center.

 

Mr. Yost was born in 1917, in Morgan County, West Virginia, the son of George C. Yost and Mary J. Ambrose Yost. He was retired from Avtex Fibers in Front Royal, Virginia. Mr. Yost was a Deacon and a Founding Member of the Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church.

 

Mr. Yost married Geraldine B. Carpenter on November 2, 1940, in Gainesboro, Virginia. His wife preceded him in death on July 21, 2008.

 

Mr. Yost is survived by daughter Barbara Y. Williams, of Bunker Hill, WV; son Samuel L. Yost, and wife, Joyce, of Berkeley Springs, WV; two grandchildren, David S. Williams, and wife, Lindetta of Stephens City, VA, and Silas K. Yost of Richmond, VA.

 

Mr. Yost was preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Cather and Florence Yost, two nieces, Becky and Beverly Cather; granddaughter, Sadie Kay Yost, and son-in-law John M. Williams.

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church on Cedar Creek Grade. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darrel Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
