Helen V. Pugh
Mrs. Helen Valaria Headley Hartley Pugh, age 89, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Timbrook Adult Home in Capon Bridge, WV. Mrs. Pugh was born in 1923 in Reliance, VA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Headley. She was a Nurses Aide at the Winchester Memorial Hospital as well as a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Verlis O. Pugh, preceded her in death on June 14, 2003.
Surviving are four sons, Gary M. Pugh and wife, Sharon of Winchester, VA, Billy Ray Hartley and wife, Georgianna, of Stephens City, VA, Daniel P. Pugh and wife, Tammy of Linden, VA, and Doug Hartley and wife, Janet of Winchester, VA; a step-daughter, JoAnn Pugh Patterson and husband Walter of Frederick County, VA, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, six brothers, and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, November 5, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6 at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Victor Gomez officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Pugh’s sons, Gary Pugh, Billy Ray Hartley, Daniel Pugh, and Doug Hartley, Jerry Headley and Timmy Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Stickley and Steve Schmidt.
The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to Kitty and Richard Timbrook and the staff of the Timbrook Adult Home for the excellent care they provided for Mrs. Pugh.
