Helen A. Scollick

Helen Agnes Scollick, age 93, of Martinsburg, WV, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Scollick was born in 1918 in Charlottesville, VA, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Lena Jane Birckhead. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was known for her love of family, church and the natural outdoor beauty and wildlife.

She married Joseph Edward Scollick on December 23, 1941, in Washington, DC. Mr. Scollick preceded her in death on November 22, 2010.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Grimes and husband, Dennis of York, PA and Jane Kerns and husband, Joey, of Berkeley Springs, WV, seven grandchildren, Amy McBee, Michelle Hoffman-Gornall, Justin Hoffman, Tyson Hoffman, Sara Kerns, Jesse Kerns and Michael Coale; nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, at Omps Funeral South Chapel, with Pastor Steve Melester officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
