Helen Adeline Blosser Feltner, 91, of Clarke County, Virginia passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Mrs. Feltner was born in 1926 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ray Allen and Mamie Catherine Blosser.
Mrs. Feltner was a loving mother, staying at home to raise three children. Helen and her husband Wil, were long time members of the First Christian Church, where she was a Deaconess, Sunday school teacher and volunteer for special events. Helen accomplished many great things throughout her life and took pride in her family. She graduated from John Handley High School, Class of 1944 and was instrumental in coordinating all her Class Reunions. She was an avid collector of miniature lamps and Co-authored a book on miniature lamps with Ruth E. Smith. She also was well known for her collections of children’s glassware and children’s furniture.
Mrs. Feltner served on the Clarke County Education Foundation for many years.
Mrs. Feltner was on the Board of The Feltner Community Foundation, which owned and operated The Museum at 9 Court Square in Winchester. The Museum housed many of the Feltner’s personal collections and was open to the public. The foundation donated the building to Shenandoah University on April 1, 2011.
Mrs. Feltner married Wilbur M. Feltner on September 9, 1945 in Winchester, Virginia. The wedding ceremony was performed by her uncle, the Revered Floyd A. Blosser. Together they have shared a life of love and were married for 71 Years.
Surviving with her husband is daughter, Jill A. Feltner and her husband David Grim of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Jeffrey W. Feltner and his wife Melanie and Judd M. Feltner and his wife Shalane both of Winchester, Virginia; three grandchildren, Judd Lofton, Joshua Feltner and his wife Stephanie, and Will Feltner; four great grandchildren, Jensen L. Lofton, Teagan and Kinsey Feltner, and Colton Feltner; a sister Sandra Hill and her husband E. Edwin of Winchester, Virginia as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Mrs. Feltner was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Blosser.
