Hazel V. Haines
Hazel Virginia Tanner Haines, 79, of Stephenson, Virginia, died Monday, March 26, 2012, in her home.
Mrs. Haines was born 1932, in Madison County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ella Pearl and Russell Tanner, Sr. She was a homemaker and attended Keystone Baptist Church, Berryville, Virginia. Hazel was an avid lover of the outdoors; she enjoyed gardening, fishing and farming. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many who will be greatly missed by all.
Her husband, Theodore Earl Haines, preceded her in death on September 2, 1998.
Her first husband, Carroll Sisk, preceded her in death on June 9, 1963.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Villa and husband, Efren; Cathy Gonzalez, all of Stephenson, Tina Funk and husband, Michael, of Clearbrook; Wallace Haines and wife, Georgia, of Stephenson; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Anna Mae Lawson of Winchester and brother, Edward Tanner and wife, Mary, of Reva, Virginia.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Thursday, at Novum Baptist Church Cemetery, Reva, Virginia, with Pastor Jeff Light officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
