Gunhild Johanna Ives

Gunhild Ives, 92, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Westminster Canterbury, Winchester, Virginia.

Mrs. Ives was born in 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Gunnar and Borghild Osterberg. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

Her husband, Ralph Newland Ives, whom she married on May 3, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, preceded her in death on December 14, 2011.

Surviving are three daughters, Susan McCollum and her husband, Douglass, of Purcellville, Virginia, Karen Marshall and her husband, Richard, of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin and Nancy Boyd and her husband, William, of Herndon, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Ryan McCollum and wife, Kim, of California, Eric McCollum and his wife, Aleshia, of Maryland, Heidi Marshall-Sanchez and her husband, Johnny, of New York and Cyrus Marshall also of New York, Gretchen Dowling and her husband, Eric, Ethan Boyd and Corey Boyd all of Virginia and eight great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 3, at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lovettsville, Virginia.

Arrangements are by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
