Gloria Juanita Ward Sirbaugh, of Winchester, Virginia went home to the Lord surrounded by the comfort of family on April 2, 2017. Gloria was born September 17, 1925 in Washington, DC, to Kathleen Mills Ward MacMullen. She was raised by her aunt Mary Curtis who she affectionately called Mother. She attended John Handley High school. Gloria married Douglas Wilson Sirbaugh on September 1, 1941.
Gloria dedicated her life to her family and her God. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to three generations. Her greatest passion was her grandchildren; she loved being with them. Gloria was a founding member of Valley Avenue Church of Christ, currently Church of Christ at Mountain View. She enjoyed having her hair done and shopping on Saturdays and attending church service and cooking dinner on Sundays.
She was married to her soulmate Douglas Sirbaugh for seventy-one years before he preceded her in death on December 26, 2012.
Gloria is survived by her son, Dennis Sirbaugh (Ruth Ann) and her daughter Linda Meadows. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Wendy Meadows Ford (Allen), Susan Sirbaugh Wasserman (Joe), Christy Meadows, Ryan Sirbaugh, and Christopher Sirbaugh (Kim); five great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Meadows Wright (Aaron), Sam Wasserman, Diana Wasserman, Ethan Ford, Luke Sirbaugh, and Andrew Sirbaugh; three great-great grandchildren, Niyah Wright, Addison Wright, and Camden Wright.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6 from 6-8 P.M. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Gloria will be laid to rest on Friday, April 7, 2017. A service will take place at Church of Christ at Mountain View at 11 A.M. with Evangelist Chuck Doughty officiating. An interment will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
