Gary Crosen, loving father and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Winchester, Virginia on May 5, 2016.
Born on December 20, 1942, to Montana (deceased) and Alma Crosen, he was the proud father of two daughters, Tina (Crosen) Wyatt and Tara Crosen, both of Winchester.
In addition to his children, he is survived by his daughter Tina’s family – son-in-law, Evan Wyatt, and grandchildren, Kelley and Brandon Wyatt; and his loving companion, Helen Flowers.
A life-long resident of Winchester and a member of Wesley Chapel UMC, he will be remembered by all who knew him for his authenticity, his marvelous sense of humor, and his love of story-telling. Throughout his life, Gary knew few strangers; those who crossed his path were soon to become engaged in thoughtful and witty conversation. In addition to the many friends he made during his 42 years of management with commercial trucking agencies, Gary particularly enjoyed attending gatherings with his former colleagues of Allegheny Freight Lines, fishing and shooting clay pigeons, and most of all, the meaningful time he spent with his family and friends. He will continue to be the source of wonderful memories for those who were blessed to know and love him.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made in the celebration of his life may be directed to Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia, 22601 to offset burial expenses.
