Gary Lane Dalton, 71, of Wardensville, West Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Dalton was born on November 28, 1946 in Hillsville, Virginia, the son of the late Luke and Icely Dalton. He graduated from Hillsville High School. In 1971 he founded Underground Cable Construction Company Inc, in Fairfax, Virginia, burying cable for C&P Telephone Company and Virginia Power and Electric. In 1987 he changed course for the company doing Hoe Ram work for Builders and Contractors. The business is thriving today under the management of his son, Michael Dalton. After semi-retiring from the company, after 30+ years, he relocated to Wardensville, to a farm that was purchased in 1973. His greatest passion was the farm, as well as hunting and fishing. Many people in Wardensville, who knew him, have been the recipient of Gary’s free heart and knowledge.
He married Regina Quesenberry on July 3, 1965 in Rockville, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of 53 years is a daughter, Kim Dalton of Wardensville, West Virginia and a son, Michael Dalton of Gainesville, Virginia; sister, Patsy Maus (Cleve) of Tallahassee, Florida; sisters-in-law, Ann Moore of Front Royal, Virginia, Patricia Cox of Sylvatus, Virginia, Renae Funkhouser of Front Royal, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Tommy Quesenberry (Mary) of Huddleston, Virginia, Russell Quesenberry (Susan) of Huddleston, Virginia, and James Quesenberry of Hillsville, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents Gary was preceded in death by brothers, Silvin and Larry Dalton.
A celebration of life party will be held at a later date.
