“Gary”
Gary, 57, of Winchester, VA went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, October 28, 2015. He passed peacefully at home with loved ones around him. He was born January 7, 1958 in Washington, District of Columbia, the son of Dr. Herbert and Ruth Earnshaw.
He was educated at the School of Hope, The Benedictine School and Princess Garden Special Center, all in Maryland. He was a charter resident at Concord in Yellow Spring, West Virginia for eleven years.
Due to a high-level spinal cord injury in an auto accident in 1985, he received specialized at-home care. Gary was an avid proponent for the use of seat belts. He enjoyed socializing with his Concord friends, Mt. Airy 4-H with Elwanda Luttrell as Leader, and Relief United Methodist Church friends. He was well known for his wit, sense of humor, and radiant smile.
Surviving are his parents of Stephens City, his brother, William Earnshaw, Sr., five nephews, one niece, several aunts and uncles, many cousins, dedicated dear friends and care givers, Albie and Annette Mannino, and Kim Baker.
Family and friends will be received Friday, November 6th from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Omps, Amherst Chapel.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 AM at Omps, Amherst Chapel with the Reverend Richard McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Bill Earnshaw, Sr., Andy Feerst, Earl Luttrell, Albie Mannino, Mark Painter, and Glenn Shive. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Adams, Joe Alger, Bob Bavender, and Jim Douglas.
Following the interment, a Fellowship Gathering meal will be at Relief United Methodist Church, 5275 Middle Road, Winchester, VA
