Franklin R. Brill, Sr.
Franklin Ralph Brill, Sr., 78, of Winchester, Virginia, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, surrounded by his family, in his home.
Mr. Brill was born in 1934, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Walter and Ida Brill. He was retired employee of the City of Winchester serving as the Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager, for 34 years. He formerly worked for 7-11 stores as a Manager for 5 years. Mr. Brill was a member of Winchester Church of God and a graduate of Gore High School, Class of 1952.
He married Peggy Ann Orndorff on July 2, 1953, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Deborah Catherine Grim of Stephens City; son, Frank Brill, Jr., of Winchester; grandchildren, Jeffrey Mark Grim, Steven Michael Grim, Robert “Robbie” Grim, Faith Noel Grim, Holly Nichole Grim, Kristi Lynn Brill, Latisha Brill and Ayana Detamore; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Caleb Grim; and his sister, Pauline Borror of Strasburg, Virginia.
One son, Ricky Franklin Brill, a granddaughter, Katie Brill, sister, Lucille Strawderman and two brothers, Gene and Tom Brill, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Winchester Church of God with Pastor Darrell Waller and Pastor Kent Woodward officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Jeffrey “Mark” Grim, Steven Grim, Mark Lauro, Danny Lauro ,David Lauro, Jim Meadows, Jeff Grim and Frank Brill, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ushers of Winchester Church of God
