Frank B. Knapp, Jr.
Frank Belmer Knapp, Jr., 84, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, August 29, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Knapp was born in 1927, in Washington D.C., the son of the late Frank and Helen Knapp, Sr. He was employed by the Federal Government as a Computer Operator retiring in 1982. Mr. Knapp was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a Veteran of World War II, during the German Occupation, serving in the United States Army.
Surviving is his daughter, Minnette Fristoe of Winchester; three grandchildren, Saundra Beal and husband, Eddie, of Front Royal, Kevin Fristoe of Capon Bridge, West Virginia Corrie Fristoe of Winchester; and four great grandchildren Andrew, Trevor and Justin Beal all of Front Royal and Ian Fristoe of Capon Bridge, West Virginia.
Two sisters, Minnette H. Simpson and Dorothy A. West, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Jack Whitacre officiating. Interment will be private
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
