Frances Leona Mowery, age 75, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Mowery was born in 1942 in Maryland, the daughter of the late George Henry and Carrie Shugars. She was a homemaker. She loved her church and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always did things “her way”. Mrs. Mowery was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Winchester.
Frances married Ray Allen Mowery on February 14, 1997 in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Darnita “Suzie” Lewis (Paul); sons, Gary Cook and Gerald “Jamie” Lewis (Cindy); grandchildren, TK Feaster, Andrew Lewis, Eric Lewis, Layla Lewis and Jake Lewis; great grandchildren, Aria Rhys Lewis, Parker Andrew Lewis, and Emily Thrush; sisters, Catherine Lewis, Ethel Lewis, and Darlene Kitzmiller; brothers, Roger, Darryl, Eugene, Charlie and Mike Shugars.
Sisters Tiny, Verla, and Annabelle and brother, Johnny Shugars preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps, South Chapel and on Wednesday, June 14th from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at The Church of the Good Shepherd Winchester, Virginia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the church with Reverend Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in Mt Hebron Cemetery.
