Floyd “Buck” Wright, 80, of Upperville, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at Lynn Care Center in Front Royal, Virginia.
Mr. Wright was born in 1938 in Virginia, the son of the late Henry and Lucy Wright. He was a farmer and took great pride in his work at Cleremont Farm in Upperville, Virginia, where he worked for 60 years. Being a man of the land he found great enjoyment in splitting wood, hunting, and listening to bluegrass music. His greatest passion was his family. A hard working, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother that is loved and missed.
He married Mary Palmer on April 29, 1959 in Frederick, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of 59 years are daughters, Linda Triplett (Jim) of Upperville, Virginia and Faye Wright of Winchester, Virginia; sons, F. Wayne Wright (Linda) of White Post, Virginia and Mark A. Wright (Fran) of Upperville, Virginia; grandchildren, Melissa Sexton of White Post, Virginia, Gary Wright (Emily) of Stephens City, Virginia, Susan Wright of Upperville, Virginia, Kimberly McClellan (Chris) of Upperville, Virginia, Travis and Faith Spinks both of Winchester, Virginia; ten great grandchildren; eight sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, February 19th, at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Upperville, Virginia with Pastor Terry Hendricks officiating. A continued time of food and fellowship will follow the interment at Upperville Baptist Church, 9070 John S. Mosby Highway, Upperville, Virginia.
