Floyd Cleveland Griffith, 96 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.
Floyd was born in 1928 in Luray, VA, the son of the late Masby Cleveland Griffith and Mary Susan Fox. He served our country during WWII in the United States Army. He was a good mechanic who could fix anything, he enjoyed going to the river and even built himself a boat and taught himself to swim and water ski. Floyd was a member of the Winchester Moose, the Winchester V.F.W., and he attended services at Congregational Christian Fellowship Church in Winchester.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann whom he married on July 25, 1952, goddaughter, Katherine Solenberger, godson, Harvey Grimsley; sister-in-law, Jeannette Miller; nieces and nephews, Earl Nichols, Martha Susan Shackelford, Frank Griffith, Jr., Jerry Miller and Rhonda Susan Miller and loving family members, Gay and Wayne Yowell, Judy Price, Heather Bailey (Tim), Ross Bailey, Holly Rudolph (Rudy) and Kimber and Harper Rudolph.
Floyd is preceded in death by his sister, Eula Nichols Sours and his brother, Frank Griffith, Sr.
A visitation will be held for Floyd on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm with a service the following day, Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
