Fleetwood Miles Jones, 90, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Jones was born in 1925, in Smithfield, Virginia, the son of the late Samuel Emmet and Grace Rebecca Jones. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Jones attended American University. He was employed as a Cryptologist with the National Security Agency, retiring in 1973. Mr. Jones was a member of Rockland Community Church in Front Royal, Virginia. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife, square dancing, genealogy (he was an 11th generation Virginian) as well as being a Nationals and Redskins Fan.
He married Dorothy Ann Lee on September 3, 1949, in Arlington, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife of 66 years is his son, Ronald Lee Jones and his wife, Connie, of Ashburn, Virginia; grandchildren, Bonnie Lynn Jones of Zurich, Switzerland, Adam Robert Jones of Centreville, Virginia, David Michael Jones and wife, Maggie Ross, of Baltimore; sisters, Rebecca Grace Jones Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona and Ann Elithia Jones of Georgia.
His son, Bradley Alan Jones and three brothers, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, at Westminster Canterbury Chapel, with Chaplain Larry Lawhon and Reverend Elizabeth Lewis officiating.
