Eugene Edward Clark
Eugene Edward Clark, 83, of Frederick County, passed away, Wednesday, May 05, 2010, in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Clark was born in 1927 in Whitacre, Virginia, the son of the late William W. and Anna Belle Clark. He retired in 2004, with 25 years of service as Head Custodian for Indian Hollow Elementary School. Mr. Clark was a founding member of Wesleyan Fellowship Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II, where he received Army of Occupational Medal and WWII Victory Medal.
He married Gaye Bateman on October 16, 1948 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of sixty-one years; are two children, Malinda Henkel and her husband, Bill of Clear Brook and Wesley E. Clark and his wife, Tammy of Winchester; three grandchildren, Joshua G. Miller, Brittany J. Clark, and Zachary A. Clark; and two great grandchildren, Noah T. Miller and Emma N. Miller. Six sisters and a brother, all preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Mark Ransom officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Miller, Zachary Clark, William Henkel, Allen Speelman, Dick Holliday, and Luther Dill.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Shobe, Victor Dill, Harry Dill, David Dill, James Dill, and Mark Dill.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Fellowship Church, 2239 Martinsburg Pike, Winchester, Virginia 22603 or to Gainesboro Fire and Rescue Company, 221 Gainesboro Road, Winchester, Virginia 22603.
