Ernest A. Kline, Sr.
Ernest Andrew Kline, Sr., age 69, of Gore, Virginia, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Kline was born in 1943 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Ernest Calvin and Flossie Kline. He was employed as a loader operator for Luck Stone Quarry, Inc., retiring in 2005 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church.
He married Ola Mae Marple on August 3, 1974 in Brucetown, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife, are his children, Janette M. Jones and husband, Benjamin, Carol E. Vollmerhausen and husband, David, and Roy A. Marple, all of Frederick County, Virginia, Thomas W. Whitlock and wife, Judith of Winchester, Virginia, and Ernest A. “Andy” Kline, Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Inwood, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Christina M. Jones and Scott Helsley, Jacqueline R. Howard and husband, Andrew, Amanda L. Harrington and James Harrington, Justin A. Kline and wife, Holly, Alicia N. Jones, Emily K. Kline, and Brooke Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Collin, Joseph, and Nathan Howard, Madison, Natalie, and Travis Helsley, and Farrah Kline; and a sister, Veda Riggleman of Frederick County, Virginia. A brother, Donald Kline preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Omps, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with the Dr. Kenneth H. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hayfield, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Ernest A. Kline, Jr., Roy A. Marple, Thomas W. Whitlock, Justin A. Kline, Andrew Howard, Scott Helsley, Benjamin J. Jones, David R. Vollmerhausen, and Jimmy Barker.
