I have so many fond memories of ED growing up. ED and I hit it off with us both having a love of Volkswagen Bugs and it went from there. We had many great adventures and a lot of laughs and good times! I remember one specific evening that he and I were riding around in his blacked-out Chevy S-10 pick up and decided to go to the Krispy Kreme to get some doughnuts. We parked in front of the building and before we could get out, a group of unruly teens congregated in front of ED's truck. ED had installed a hidden nozzle in the front of his truck that would squirt water out with the push of a button. Needless to say, the group of teens had no idea how they got wet! There were many more entertaining stories that included ED, Drew, Karl, Howard, and Stacey that swirled around in my mind and made me realize that we lost some great guys way to soon. So sorry for your loss.

Mr and Mrs Donald I’m so sorry for your loss. Eric will be missed. I have so many fond memories going all the way back to 7th grade in the Dungeon at Ooltewah Middle School to cooking with Eric in the duplex that I lived in with him and Drew. Him calling me out of the blue to talk the past few years. He always got a smile out of me when ever we talked about the times when he was in Chattanooga and when we met up in Jacksonville. Your family is in our prayers. My deepest sympathies, Stacey Green

I met Eric on 9/8/01 at Drew’s house in Middleburg, FL. My boyfriend(now husband), Howard, had wanted me to travel to Florida to meet the Donald brothers. My first impression of Eric was that he was sweet and so funny. He kept me laughing until my sides hurt. On that day, Alabama had the early game against Vanderbilt and after the game, I snapped the attached photo of the 3 celebrating Bama’s victory. We had a barbecue and I spent time with Eric over the next several days, including one of America’s darkest days 9/11/01. At that time I found out how much compassion he had for others and that he loved his country. I never saw Eric in person after that visit, however, I spoke to him often. He always loved(and made fun of) my southern drawl. He would always find some way to make me laugh and in recent years would share funny tiktok videos. He also loved to share his drone videos that were quite amazing. The most amazing thing Eric sent was a wooden cane for my husband with his excellent woodworking skills. He signed it Ed which many of us lovingly called him over the years. Eric was one of the most loving, caring, compassionate men I have ever known. I will miss hearing his voice and his laugh. Rest well Ed(Eric) Donald.

Eric, my heart is breaking. I loved both you and Drew like a brother since 1981 and your passing creates yet another hole that cannot be filled. Some of my most cherished memories are of Eric and the time we spent ridin' around in his blue VW Bug or blue Chevy S-10. Whether it was the shared laughs, or the shared stories, and most recently- the shared loss, Eric and I could communicate on a level few will know. My sincere condolences to Becky and Leroy and hopefully ya'll may take a small measure of comfort in knowing how loved Eric was and the impact he had on so many around him. Those of us who knew Eric will think of him often. I love you Eric Donald-may you rest in peace.
