Elmer H. Lauck

        Elmer Harold Lauck, 91, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Lauck was born in 1922, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of William C. and Gladys M. Lauck. He was a graduate of Stephens City High School. He was a veteran having served in the Army Air Corp as a Tech Sergeant during World War II, Mediterranean and  European Theatres. He was employed at Green Chemical Company as an Assistant Manager, retiring with more than 30 years of service. Mr. Lauck was also an accomplished sign painter for over 60 years. He was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, a Charter member of the Round Hill Ruritan Club, on the Board of Directors of the Gainesboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue, as well as a past Commander of the VFW #2123 in Winchester, Virginia.

Mr. Lauck married Martha Stewart in 1994, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Ronald E. Lauck and wife, Cherie, Chester T. Lauck and wife, Becky, and Roger Lauck and wife, Rose, all of Frederick County, Virginia; six grandchildren, Stephanie E. Willey, Josh Lauck, Jeremy Lauck, Rachel Lauck, Andrew Lauck, and Isaac Lauck; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Parrill, and Patsy Strawderman, both of Frederick County, Virginia, and Linda Turner of Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Also surviving are three step-children, Bill Stewart and wife, Cindia, Jim Stewart and wife, Jean, and Margaret Cook all of Winchester; six step-grandchildren, Jessica Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Philip Stewart, Kimberly Cook, Brian Cook, Rebecca Cook and two step-great grandchildren.

Mr. Lauck was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis S. Lauck, three sisters, and four brothers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2014, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Dr. David Young, Bethel Lutheran Church and Reverend Dr. Conrad Christianson, Jr., Pastor Emeritus, Bethel Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Boone, Brian Cook, Colton Davis, Jeremy Lauck, Josh Lauck and Philip Stewart.
