Elizabeth F. McFarland

        Elizabeth “Libby” Bell Farmer McFarland, 85 of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. McFarland was born in 1928, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry R. and Pluma Farmer, Sr.  Libby was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She married Holmes Melvin McFarland on April 20, 1946, in Winchester, Virginia.  He preceded her in death on December 16, 1976.

Surviving is her daughter, Connie Patton and husband, Frank; son, Danny M. McFarland all of Winchester; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Clark and husband, Richard, and Margaret Price all of Winchester.

Two daughters, Donna E. “Penny” Dorsey and Phyllis A. Kaval; one sister, Heidi Farmer and brothers, Harry R. Farmer, Jr. and Richard F. Farmer preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 1:00-3:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Funeral Celebrant Joseph R. Dilleree will be officiating.  Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
