Elizabeth Belle Ridenour Ritter, 90, of White Post, Virginia, died Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Ritter was born in 1925, in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Bessie M. Ridenour. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Frederick County.
She married George N. Ritter on March 28, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1999.
Surviving are her daughters, Shirley Ann Harlow (Buddy) of Winchester, Joyce Belle Ritter Miller (Jon), of Leesburg, Peggy Lee Howell (Jeff) of Augusta, West Virginia, Patricia Marie Ritter-Lockhart of White Post; sons, Floyd Leslie Ritter, Sr. (Kay), Steve George Ritter, Sr. (Madeline), George Nelson Ritter, Jr., (Lauretta), all of Winchester, Frank James Ritter, Sr. (Joyce) of Stephens City, Gregory Lee Ritter (Karen), of Winchester, Boyd Dean Ritter, Sr. (Candance), of White Post; 30 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Miller of Warrenton, Virginia, Beatrice Griffith of Florida, Catherine Hartley of Stephens City and Hilda Myers of North Carolina.
Two great grandchildren, Ashely Ritter and Ashley Harlow and three brothers, Robert “Jack” Ridenour, Irvin C. Ridenour and Floyd “Bugs” Ridenour, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00-9:00 PM at Macedonia United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Mayton and Reverend Jason Duley officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be her 9 grandsons, Leslie, Curtis, Steve, Gus, Mike, Shawn, Frank, Kilby and D.J.
