Elaine Ruth Putman, 65, of Stephens City, Va, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Winchester Health & Rehab.

Elaine was born in 1960 in Philadelphia, PA, the youngest daughter of Elaine Harman and the late Larry Years. She was a graduate of Maple Shade High School. Elaine loved our Lord Jesus and was an active member of Abundant Life Church. Her “happy place” was the beach. Elaine loved animals, her favorites being koalas and dogs. Some of her favorite hobbies over the years included crocheting, doing puzzles, reading her Bible and playing Words with Friends.

She married Clark W. Putman on September 9, 2000, at First United Methodist Church in Stephens City.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Clark; her mother, Elaine; daughters, Pamela Reynolds (Joshua), Kathryn “Katie” Cooper; grandchildren, Morgan, Nixie, Noah, Cooper and Corbin and her sisters, Nancy Carpenter and Carol Costa (John) and 3 nephews and 1 niece, Christopher Costa, Matthew Carpenter, Sarah Quinines and Larry Carpenter.

My sincere condolences to your family for this heartbreaking loss. You're in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.

Even though Elaine and I didnt travel in the same friend circle in high school, we became very close in the last few years. We talked often and became best friends in Christ. She loved the Lord and couldn't wait to be with Him. She read her Bible every day (even though she admitted she didn't always understand it.) I admired her and loved her. We said "I love you" all the time. I'm happy that she is where she wants to be. Until we meet again, my friend.

We are very saddened to hear of Ruthie's death. We haven't seen each other for many years but she did stay in touch. We hope she's found peace and comfort. Andy, Jess, and Jake Years

Elaine and I hung out during high school when they moved to Maple Shade. I have so many memories. Gi Gi, their poodle. I remember how she loved koala's and Elvis! We called ourselves "Lavern and Shirley" Rest in peace Elaine, I will not forget you. Joanne

Elaine will always be in my heart . So many great memories of laughter , horseback riding, words with friends , Elvis lol , There isn't a time that I watch Heartland and don't think of Elaine .
